Because I and my friends were going to celebrate the New Year away from our family and loved ones, we decided to do it differently and that was to chase the sun - the last sunset of 2014 and first sunrise of 2015.
For the last sunset of 2014, we went to Jogashima Island, a small island in Kanagawa prefecture facing the Pacific Ocean. The last sunset was particularly glorious and at the same time exuded a calming feeling. A perfect time to reflect on the year that was. We managed to stay on the island despite until the last glimpse of the sun disappeared. Activity like this confirmed that we are indeed photo enthusiasts. Crazy photo enthusiasts. Check their sites too (Alaine, Noli, Kate)
And because of that spectacular sunset, we were pretty amped and hoped for a wonderful sunrise too. We were like kids enjoying the moment. We left the island around 1800H and went to Yokohama area for a quick dinner, waited for the year-end countdown and had karaoke afterwards.

Two hours before sunrise, we became zombies, trying to open our eyes so as not to miss the first sunrise of 2015. The temperature of -2 deg C was not helping either. We were frozen zombies. And the funniest part was that the sun did not show up. A big dark cloud took over the spot of the eager sun. Disappointed zombies.
Well, no one can control Mother Nature. Just like in life, some things are beyond our control. No matter what, continue chasing. Be it a dream or whatever.
Happy New Year Everyone!
